Day 1
Bayeux is a truly splendid place to explore. After checking in at your hotel you could take in the world famous Tapestry, or the magnificent Cathedrale Notre Dame but whatever you decide on, enjoy some refraichissements in the attractive main street.
Day 2
Off to the coast today as you take to the lanes after a good breakfast. Stop to have a coffee or lunch at the attractive and still working small fishing port of Port-en Bessin . If you are interested you can walk up to the local golf club where, facing the sea, is an awe-inspiring plaque describing the achievement of the Royal Marines.
You have the option of either continuing to Omaha Beach or maybe even to Pointe du Hoc, or cycling along the coast to Arromanches - les Bains, perhaps visiting the superb 360 degree cinema, not failing to notice the enormous remains of the famous Mulberry Harbour.
You spend the night in a hospitable, family run hotel near Arromanches.
Day 3
Cycle to Fontaine-Henry via Creully along the rolling, green Normandy landscape.
Creully has a fun and truly interesting umbrella factory situated in the beautiful grounds of a Normandy estate. Fontaine-Henry has a beautiful 16th century Chateau. Its then back to Bayeaux , perhaps to buy some calvados, cidre brut or for the adventurous, boudin noir or andouillette or visit a lace making workshop or see how calvados is made.
Day 4
After a sustaining buffet breakfast, regrettably its time to say "au revoir et a la prochaine".
With notice, we can collect and take you back to Bayeux railway station or to Ouistreham Ferry Terminal, at no charge.
Days 2 and 3 can be booked in reverse order.
