French Pedals Limited Terms and Conditions

Payments may be made by sterling cheque, bankers draft, inter-bank transfer or by debit card. Please make you cheques payable to French Pedals Limited‚ writing your address on the reverse side of the cheque. Regrettably, payments made by credit card will incur a surcharge of 2%. Payments by debit card will not incur a surcharge. We do not accept payments made by American Express.

Making a deposit booking
A payment of £100 per person and the appropriate insurance premium, if applicable, secures a provisional reservation. On receipt of the deposit and booking form, we will send you your holiday invoice. This invoice will act as your booking confirmation.

Holiday balance
The remaining full balance of your holiday is payable 7 weeks before the start of your holiday.

Late bookings
When you book a holiday less than 7 weeks before the holiday starts, the total amount for the holiday is payable immediately.

Tour availability
Please contact us with the dates of your holiday so that we can check availability. Do not send any money until we have advised you of holiday availability.

Holiday amendment
Should you wish to change the date of your holiday, an amendment fee of £40 per booking is payable. Of course changes are subject to holiday availability.

Cancellations
Written notice is required should you wish to cancel your holiday.

French Pedals cancellation
In rare circumstances it may be necessary to cancel your holiday up to two weeks before the first day of your tour. We reserve the right to do so in any circumstances. Should this situation occur we will refund all payments made or offer an alternative tour date. However, we will not be responsible for any of your incidental expenses such as travel costs, accommodation, insurance or visa costs.

Booking confidence
French Pedals meets the EU Travel Package Directive. Your money is held in a Trust Account until your holiday is completed.

Minimum numbers
There are no minimum numbers.

Groups
Given sufficient notice it may be possible to arrange a tour for a large group .Here as much notice as possible would be appreciated. However, in peak season, especially in the summer, it may be necessary to split the group between hotels, some of which may not be 3 stars. At the same time, it may be possible to negotiate a group reduction subject to numbers and date of travel.

Named Person
Where 2 (two) or more people are travelling together one person must be named at the time of booking for contact and payment purposes.

Start and finish of the tour
The holiday starts on arrival to the first hotel at the appointed time. The holiday ends after breakfast on the 7th day of the 7 day tour, and after breakfast on the 4th day of the 4 day tour.

Tour alterations
Occasionally it is not possible to implement our advertised tours. Our tours are offered as a statement of intent only. They are not representation or undertakings that they will be carried out. Where supplementary expenses arise through delay of planned tours through accident or disruptive weather or events which are beyond our control, e.g. wars, riots, strikes, Acts of God etc, such expenses will be borne by the customer.

Prices of holidays
Our published prices may, in unusual or extreme circumstances, change due to currency rate fluctuations, accommodation charges or as the result of government action. Once a full payment is made we will absorb all surcharges. There is a returnable local deposit of €30 per bicycle for ancilliary equipment, payable at commencement of holiday. It is returned at the end of the tour where there is no loss or damage to the equipment.

Risks
We accept your booking on the understanding that you appreciate the risks and hazards of taking a cycling holiday. There are inherent risks cycling on and off the road. It is your responsibility to ride with due care and diligence at all times. Where there is doubt you should walk. We do not provide helmets for hygiene reasons. We strongly recommend that you bring your own.

Information
All information that we offer, such as that given about climate, clothing and other equipment, is given in good faith and without any responsibility on our part.

Passports and visas
You must have a valid passport when you leave the UK and arrive in France. Where you are travelling from outside the EU, you should check whether you need a visa to enter France.

Health and insurance
We do not consider that the cycling is demanding. Before your holiday begins we recommend that you do some practice at home. However if you have any health concerns, you should visit your doctor prior to taking the holiday. You must bring with you on holiday a valid European Health Insurance card (EHIC), which is available from the Post Office.

Additionally, you must either have your own travel insurance which must include cover for medical costs, repatriation to your home in the event of illness and the replacement value of our bicycles in the event of theft or take out the travel insurance provided by French Pedals Limited through the Travel Trust Association, at the time that you make your booking. When you use your insurance, you must provide the name of the insurance company, the policy number and the validity dates, at the time you make your booking.

Please carry the EHIC card and a copy of the insurance certificate with you at all times during the tour.

Complaints
In the event of a complaint whilst on a tour you should notify the hotel owner and/or our local representative, at the time so that the matter can be rectified straight away. If the matter is not rectified the complaint should be sent to us in writing at our office within 15 days of your return. English law applies with this contract within the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Hotel bookings
We are retail agents for hotels in France.

Brochure and website
Our brochure and website are usually produced annually at the beginning of the year. The information is put together with great care and attention and is accurate so far as we can make it on the date of publication.

Responsibilities
It is your responsibility that your behaviour does not disturb the enjoyment of other guests at the hotel(s).We reserve the right not to accept you as a customer or continue dealing with you where you are abusive, threatening towards our staff or suppliers on the telephone, in writing or in person. In the event of any disruptive behaviour, we reserve the right to cancel forthwith the individual‚/individuals‚ continuation of the tour. In these circumstances no refunds or compensation will be paid.

Parental responsibility
Parents or guardians undertake full responsibility and supervision of and for their children at all times.

Liabilities
We shall not be liable for any damages caused by total or partial failure to carry out the contract where failure is:

1. the result of customer action

2. due to the theft of bicycle(s)

3. injury as a result of cycling on or off road caused by failure to wear a cycle helmet

Where we are held liable for failure to carry out the contract our liability is limited to the price of the tour.
